  • I've been doing this stroke to improve my back (I sprained it and it still hurts). My only issue now is that my knees hurt. Any tips?

  • @peachykeenlimabeen What is it about your knees that hurts? If its muscular or around the knee cap it could be that you are kicking too hard and over stretching the muscles. Do a good warm up and more gentle kicks for a while and the pain should reduce.

  • yes, the advice is fine, and you make it look so easy. but My legs/ muscles are burning with pain and im dead out of breath by 50 metres(2 laps) :( :( any advice please, on how to improve doing 100 metres atleast without being breathless and legs cramps and pains. (I do my stretches, but my body legs cant handle more than 2 laps.

  • @Theshofumiah1 - That sounds more like a stamina/endurance issue rather than anything that you are doing wrong with your technique. If your train regularly and work all the strokes, your fitness will increase and you will be able to swim further on your breaststroke. Also do a good warm up in the swimming pool too, not just stretches. Stretches aren't proven to work as a warm up, so do a couple of lengths on front crawl or backstroke to raise your heart rate and get the blood pumping.

  • Terrible head position for racing, head should be parallel to water. I feel like many in-depth things are not here, but shes got good form aside from the head.

  • Hey thanks for this guide, don't mind me asking, are you supposed to keep your head down, with your eyes looking at the line at the bottom of the pool? Thanks

  • @thehelpfulcashew Cool, thanks for the advice.

  • @Theshofumiah1 I used to be like that I couldn't even do a 25 without being tired but if you keep conditioning and pushing yourself you'll be able to do 50s without sweat. Then you got to move up to 100s and up and beyond. I know what you mean about the leg cramps and doing maybe a 50 of just kicking on your back slowly and cooling down helps.

  • @sevvendee7 Tri front crawl is going to be a little different than competitive swimming FC. Since your saving your legs kick a bit slower and use your arms up... you won't need them as much on the bike or run :)

  • This is my best stroke, and I suck at freestyle (like, really bad) is that odd?

  • Best swimming advice I have seen so far.

    Thanks you

  • @SimplySwim you helped me swim a 30.64 last weekend (13) tyvm!

the technique increased my speed 4 seconds after working with it,looks like im going to man sask again!!

  • I used to swim competitively against schools when i was little by doing this.

  • Awesome I do love this one, thank you!
