@lostin1999 - It was in the original C&D article that this video accompanies AND I worked for the company that stored the vehicles (Auto Warehousing) and deployed the airbags before they were taken and crushed. Mazda made the call and Mitsui OSK's insurance company paid it off. I can also tell you that 35 Mazdas were not crushed and they sit at AWC today (coordinates 45.627706,-122.738762). It's clear you don't know how business works so I'm going to stop arguing with you about this.

This goes back to all the frivolous lawsuits that judges should throw out but don't. If judges did their job rather than awarding seven-digit settlements to stupid people for doing stupid things, then these Mazdas would probably still be around today but Mazda chose to scrap them to avoid the possibility of a frivolous lawsuit down the road. And for those bashing America, Mazda is a JAPANESE company...they made the call so stop your pansy whining.

They wrecked the cars because they might have been damaged when the ship fell over. Mazda will not sell cars that might be damaged and maybe causing accidents for the people who buy them.

Although, they could have taken them apart to re-use the equipment, but then again I`m no car engineer so I can`t be sure why they decided to wreck them.
