This is a very unique hybrid bus in Canada. 7244 and 7246, both delivered to Translink in 1998 as Fuel Cell Hydrogen Ballard buses, were sent to Texas and converted to diesel-electric hybrid buses. These buses are powered by Allison GM hybrid drive system (series-hybrid) and Cummins ISB diesel engine. They are part of the test-of-the-power-of-tomorrow program, a controlled scientific experiment conducted by Translink.

  • do you have any pictures?

  • @LPenn0505 TTC will get Novas in 2013. that's what TTCOrionVII8100 told me...

  • @GordonFreemanD40

Well Houston METRO is replacing our older fleet of buses with Orion hybrids. We already have 176 of them. We only have 40 NFI Hybrids. I didn't like Orions at first, mainly because they are replacing our articulated buses. METRO won't buy any more artics. Do you all still have artics?

  • @LPenn0505 New Flyer, because Orions break down a lot, Battery drains and stuff happen a lot, especially in Toronto. We wish we had Nova or NFI.

  • @LPenn0505 ohh no newflyer orions break down alot and are slower

  • Which is better, New Flyer Hybrid or Orion International Hybrid? I say Orion, what do you think?

  • Wow this doesn't so bad at all :-)

  • I really like these bus: they are quit stable and the sit are o.k... But they probably need new one, of the same model if they are willing to in Vancouver... Or they need to review their schedule, because with all the bus late (considering 2 minutes of time: if the schedule say 1:45 and it is 1:48, this is late for me) or that finish to be followed quit near on the ride number 41, 49, 9, 22, 20, 25, 13... Something seem quit wrong to me; sometime, it is to the limit of a reputed metropolis.

  • @Jacob619619 aw, i wanted to ride one of these, rode all the new Hevs , de60lfr plenty of time, How often do they go to metrotown anyways? like once a month?

  • @Bakuneon - these two new flyer de40lf hybrids are very hard to find. however, there are novabus lfs hybrids at metrotown station often. new flyer de60lfr articulated hybrids, you will find them at either broadway station, sfu, ubc, burrard station, production station, and even joyce station running on 43 express.
