Betsy Geist is an essayist with particular interests in knowing and relating in a more-than-human world. Her doctoral work and much of her current study are grounded in the philosophy of Mary Parker Follett. She was a founding board member of both the Mediation Consortium of Washington State and the Five Willow Tai Chi Association; helped negotiate sister-city relations between Seattle and Chongqing, China; and has produced a comparative study of Chinese and American approaches to law and dispute resolution.
