I've had mine for about 2months and i'm still learning lol.. but it's pretty cool it's my first drum machine.

@griffinavid But the MPC is better because you can sample and create your own sounds
-
@griffinavid i know this sounds dumb but i forgot how to name the songs and patterns can you help me out?
-
does the mpc have in built drums? or do you have to sample the drums?

@natedasaxman24: I hear you so it really depends on your needs. If you want a drum machine with some solid sounds in it already...I hear a lot of cats complaining about the stock MPC sounds, but a used MPC500 is a damn good second option.

The only reason to choose this unit over an MPC is the included sound set and price.

No. It has a set bank of very good quality sounds. You cannot add any more and it does not sample. There is no USB or SD or Smart Media Connection. You can MIDI dump using MIDI OX or something similar that will support SYS EX transmissions.

Aside from the non-answer of "You can make anything with anything, if you process it right" If you can make patterns from scratch than anything will work. Electronic Dance music of all sorts= KORG electribes. Glitch and Stitch= Elektron Drum Machines. For the 'SOUND' of the different genres, I would consider processing the sounds with dirty effect boxes and guitar pedals.
