@54drexhead That song was behind 'All Mixed Up', 'Hive', the one you refer to. I have been much more disappointed as well with everything since 'Soundsystem. But, they have done okay. Having seen them small and live, and large and live...I preferred small, but once you get popular it's hard for a band to keep going and stay Grassroots...the fans will not let them.

(grassroots)- blue album- transistor- soundsystem- from chaos. everything else is garbage. 311 fans should feel lucky. most bands dont get to release 2 good records. 311 nailed 4. those albums are awesome. Sadly, 311 have become hypocrites, especially sa's lyrics off the blue album. "the day we turn to pop the show will stop". they need to take theyre own advice, and bow out gracefully, or continue, even though the core of what was 311 is now rotten. (hexum)

Bob Rock produced the two weakest 311 records we've had. The last two. This shit is silly. SA should be upset, he got ripped of his use on the last two mediocre records. I hope this is a joke, but the last two records were quite weak compared to...everything prior. Especially the Omaha Remasters-Soundsystem.

Unfortunately, UPLIFTER sounds like it was done this way! Bob Rock has a history of producing acts and trying to "Re-invent" them, where as a producer like Rick Ruben enhances what a band already has. . . especially when your talking about bands like Metallica and 311 who have already established themselves. He might work well with new bands, but he seems to bastardize bands with an exsisting sound trying to re-invent them and failing miserably. UNIVERSAL PULSE is a welcome change to the past.
