Working in the Hopeman basement, ME undergrads (and a helpful grad student) calculate the optimal characteristics for their speakers and build them from scratch.

  • Do you have a sound room to test the speakers??

  • Love the boxes lol, but joint hahaha, and they are assembling them in the hallway.

  • @Wesley77Small

nah a audio power amplifier would've been suitable

  • Nice box but you should always keep the port at least one port width away from all sides and the woofer itself.

  • they like looked it up on line and then like followed what they said wtf omg

  • Sorry, maybe that was just an undergrad shop class or something. Please tell me it wasn't a serious project.

  • OMG University of Rochester! And you don't just plug in Thiele/Small parameter into a couple of equations either. Did they at least make you derive the equations first?

  • I am an Audio/Electrical Engineer and would have been kicked out of Electrical Engineering if I attemted to present a project like this. MAYBE they would have let me design a servo powered speaker system. I would like to know, what college is this? Before you even begin to design a loudspeaker I suggest you read and learn the 300 pages of literature in Vance Dickasons "Loudspeaker Design Cookbook". There are books most people could probably NEVER get through in their lives just on filter design.
