6 to 10 grand? what are you smoking rickbar? I've never seen a system cost anywhere near 6 grand, and it will add value to the home before it is even operating. As for the price 'increases', they have actually gone DOWN in the last 2-3 years. Declare your interests...

@rickbar123 Not if you're building a new house. I'm going to build my own hot water system. And for far less money then a professional system. Maybe it is going to perform a bit less, but it will still be sufficient enough to be useful. My main materials will be copper tubing and empty soda bottles, I even might use some black painted empty beer cans as a reflector inside the empty bottles. I'm collecting the materials.

The average Joe can not afford this technology. It cost way too much - out of box - and too much to install. The USA gives homeowners 30% back on these systems.

Manufactures and Instalers have increased their prices 60%. That is a joke.

I dont know many people with six to ten grand on the table doing nothing. The payback is too long.
