I visit a shrine, make mochi with a big mallet, then eat a ton of traditional new years food!

  • Happy new year! Did you eat your mochi soup?

  • Happy new year! I never had any mochi soup at new years. I'm pretty okay with that, as mochi in soup isn't my favorite (but I'll eat it).

  • That's a big mallet! Happy new years!

  • i loved this video!! it was so nice of them to give out mochi to the public.

just by viewing the booths i would have stopped at all of them instead of watching the ceremony (the tourist in me). New Years seems to be a fun event in Japan. the ending of the video made me hungry... was is delicious as it looked?

  • Oh thats cool, I had a feeling lol. I feel kinda dumb not knowing

  • Happy new year! And yes she is.
