I found one of these and I have all the parts except the wick. I decided to make one out of hand spun cotton 2in strips. I sewed them in a circle, made a metal band for the linkage arme to connect to. But after soaking the wick for a long time it only last 10min before it turns yellow and burns the wick down. Does the heater have to be topped off? But what about when it goes down low again?

Thanks, for mentioning the wick needing to be cut off. I just picked a similar heater up, and was concerned becasue the wick adjuster won't move the wick. This heater has also been sitting for a long time, by the looks of things. I bet it's stuck just like yours was.

I just scored one of these while junk shopping yesterday. Here's a link to instructions and parts, for those interested parties.

I fired up a old heater like this today, model 06-034. It really stinks, must be 25-30 year old kerosine in the tank, wick may be older.. I`ll replace the wick and the kerosine.
good video.

@flash178, sorry about that, didn't even hear you said 5000 and 11000 BTUs XD
Hello thanks for the Video of your vintage UK Aladdin Blue Flame heaters. Not allot info out there and even less video. I have one that I just bought and hopefully will bringing back to life. Will be buying a new wick/cleaner & mica glass so parts do seem to be available. 15 hours off of a gallon of 1-K is pretty good really. I heard you say the wick had to cut off the carrier? How was that to do? Any other tips?

@WeirdWorldAquariums >>>>It was not hard, The wick was stuck like glue to the inside of the carrier.
It had a full tank of kero when I got it and it was stuck in there like crazy.
So I had to cut it out. You could not move the wick at all.
Hope this helps

pretty nice heater, how many BTUs it puts out? and how long does it last on a tank? mine 12000 BTUs heater runs about 21 hours on a tank at low setting till i got a wood stove, been heating my wolf den with the stove, rather than kerosene, with the low setting, it still makes my wolf den too warm at 85* and yes, it's heavly insulated XD

@SpiritsoftheWolf >>>Hey man, I said in the video the heater puts out around 5000. Well It's somewhere between
5000 and 11,000 btu's. I would be safe in saying 7000btu's then....LOL
Usually get around 15hours in I gallon of Kero.
Hope this helps.
