Time

I like to flip through facebooks of people i used to know
I haven't found one yet that doesnt have a bevvy of incriminating photos on it
each gallery is there
to shout our lifestyle choices at the world
through the quietest medium possible
Hey check out my pipe, check out this party i was at.
Yeah ,i was the one in the middle,
the one who
looks the best in this photo.
See, i even tagged myself
in case you had any doubts
that was actually me
And in this one i'm pensive
I desaturated the photo and
added a couple premade filters
to help get that across.
p-e-n-s-i-v-e.
I think i'm even going to submit that
for second semester's
principles of design
photo montage.
It kind of reminds you, too
about that group of guys and
girls who just found themselves
floating in lazy circles around
the stitch in time
where their self image
was developing.

And then you realize that
its not funny any more.
You sucked all of the frivolity
from life
and when your cheeks were full
Time
in his haste
breezed by you with a
high right hook.
There's no more merit in sitting
stoned in front of a Television set
watching The Wizard of Oz :special edition
as Pink Floyd warbles on somewhere nearby,
struggling to keep up.
There's no more star gazing. That's gone.
The stars, if you can see them anymore,
are just twinkling away,
to a dead crowd
You guys never call.
Theres no need for friendship
because friendship was exposed as
a distracting ego stroke. Remember when
friends were your everything?
Remember a time before
the future?

If you can, you probably
dont want to.

It's probably because rating other peoples heartfelt work down as low as possible is jolly good fun.  I do it myself, sometimes.
