Well, I'm working for a different cruise ship company now, and things are a bit different. There's a bit more variety and unpredictability in a musicians life that comes with less repetitious cruise itineraries, and I hope to demonstrate some of that in this video.

Overall, things aren't boring, as you'll see from the variety of different venues, styles and shows we put on within the confines of a cruise ship. You'll also see how much fun we have! Enjoy!

  • Cool stuff. I'm about to audition for ProShip. I've been on Cruises with them before, but as a Lounge-band act. I wanna go as a orch.-musician. Which companies have you worked for?

  • @martinholde just Royal Caribbean and Holland America

  • probably won't ever use them

  • There are two 'bands' on the ship: The Neptunes (a jazz trio) and the Halcats (a 7 piece utility band). You need to play electric pretty well for the Halcats gig. However, it sounds like the Neptunes gig might be a better bet for you, since those guys ONLY play upright. I'm pretty sure you can choose which band you'd like to audition for.

  • Did the cowbell player get in anything sort of trouble? love the ending btw

  • @lvasaxman No, he didn't.....I think management was a bit irritated though.

  • @martinholde Heyo, How did you get the lounge-band act and what did the job consist of?

  • Hey Daniel, great clips - thanks for sharing! So the band has to sight read all of the music for the show in two hours? That's amazing haha

  • you get tons of stupid shit questions so heres mine. when you have free time are you allowed to go to guest areas like the gym and pool?

  • hi man great drumming.. how many kits do u have on the cruise ship?

  • Ugh I forgot how embarrassing some of those charts used to be.

  • shuold i bring real books - im leaving next week

  • @dfritz411 I played electric in the neptunes because the upright on ship was a health hazard.
