Not even General Buzz Grunt can keep his composure at the prospect of sentencing his own son to death, but Pascal attempts to comfort him. In doing so, Buzz's mind wanders through the mental shelves of thirty years as he questions his own decision.

This special episode is narrated by me, and was done as a challenge between myself and a few other movie makers, for we wondered how the character General Buzz Grunt would sound coming from different cultural backgrounds. This then is Glaswegian General Grunt, and before any of you remark on how poor my accent is, let me just say that I've been making every effort to tone it down so most people can understand me. My wife laughed at me for many hours whilst filming this, as she said that my viewers would be saying "come again?" "what did he say?" So I've tried not to roll my tongue and use the hard-edged vowels I ordinarily employ, but hope I've preserved the cadence of my normal manner of speaking.

If you would like to hear what American North-Eastern Buzz Grunt sounds like, be sure to watch out Swordsmasterguy's movie here. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=8DGGaShXQuA

If all goes well, you may soon hear the Norwegian and American South Central versions as well, so as much as some of you may wish to laugh at my accent, exercise some restraint (if commenting in the comments section of the movie), as doing so could potentially scare other directors off of the challenge. In private mail though, feel free!

If you still can't understand me, say so in your comments, and I will post the text.

  • Is the opening song by libera? If so does anyone know the name? Nice vid btw, very touching.

  • Yes, well noted, AurynOfAsia. The song is "I Am The Day," and it worked well for the sequence.

  • Wow this is such a touching episode... I hope you do another one like this. Btw, I didn't laugh at your accent (or want to).

  • Yes, in fact, I've joined forces with Swordsmasterguy for the next two episodes, as they will both be voiced over, and because I'm very hard to understand, I will provide subtitles as well. Hope you enjoy it, and tell me if the subtitles on this episode help at all?

  • Your voice is beatuiful =D !

  • Thank you very much, Malla. By the way, I've added annotations to the movie so that it's a bit easier to understand. Hope it helps.

  • I loved this whole "Strangetown Conspiracy" series... :) This chapter is so touching... Breaks my heart to see Buzz crying and crying... :(

And your narration is very well done. Emotional and delicate as it must be. And nice background tunes. Many congrats, I've subscribed to your series, and look forward for more chapters. :D

  • Beautiful episode. Poor Buzz. =[ I actually feel sorry for him. That poor guy, loosing his son to those aliens. And his past must of been horrible! D: Again, great episode. Your voice is good too. =P Keep up the great work. ^^

  • that was awesome and good job with the voices

  • Wow. All of these sim Youtube videos in this series are sad with very nice special effects and now a voice-over too!

For Pascal's name, I pronounce it like Pascal's Triangle (Pass-Cal, not really Passkol), because that's what I think of ever since I played the game!

  • *Cries about the story*

    *Giggles about the accent*

Oh dear, I'm sorry, it's just abit.. Not quite Buzz *Snickers*

  • i'm sorry but i don't think General Buzz has a scottish accent.=P

  • Now I see why Buck called Pascal "Uncle Pascal." I also see why Buzz turned out the way he did.

    Your accent is perfectly understandable.

  • You are completely understandable. This is a powerful story.
