I'm a King Bee is a 1957 song by blues musician Slim Harpo released as his debut single in 1957. The Rolling Stones covered the song for their self-titled debut album in 1964. Pink Floyd recorded the song in late 1965. The recording, which features Syd Barrett, Bob Klose, Roger Waters, Richard Wright and Nick Mason, is officially unreleased.
The Doors performed this track live in 1970 in Detroit, with Ray Manzarek doing the lead vocals and John Sebastian (formerly of The Lovin' Spoonful) guesting on harmonica.

  • The Rolling Stones are and always will be fantastic, their early R&B stuff was just simply "Great". As for Twickenham and Richmond, It was my old Stomping ground in the sixties, that was certainly the place to be.

Does anyone remember those lovely days at The "Castle" Richmond, L'Berge at Richmond Bridge, and of course "eel Pie Island"? Thanks for that Track.

  • @windtalkers1993 Or he just has an opinion like everybody elese...

  • @trollybus657 yeah, and Eel Pie where I danced to the Stones! I never knew they would become famous but I liked Jagger. And the ferry we took across, we put th emotor bike on it, it nearly sank, what a drab world it is now. Am still here, my son has an office on Eel Pie and I live in Twickers, it aint the same without rock and roll but we make our own!!!!!!!!!!

  • anyone remember the station hotel,Crawdaddy,, Richmond and all the beatnicks that used to lie on the grass down by the side of Richmond Bridge?donkey jackets, desert boots, black polo sweaters, coffee in the la burge, guess who?

lovely days back then, sometimes cold and hungry,go to Ellis wine merchants down the lane by the river and get a couple of empty bottles get the deposit to buy a guitar string when you think this all started thereback then.wernt we so lucky

    god bless ya
