A female pitfighter (played by Saralo, John Milius' own secretary!) fell for Conan in a different way than sexually in this lost scene, when she was beheaded in one stroke by the fierce barbarian. This was one of the many gladiator scenes that were cut out of the movie in an attempt to tone down the film's violence to avoid an X-rating. Here is a short (mute) video we made (in slomo), using the very few shots that survived in the final arena montage...

  • Let me tell you what is sexist: There are thousands of movies showing women killing men but when a man kills a women even in self defense uhhhh is a terrible crime! That is discrimination. Men are worthless, women are nearly godesses. That is sexist. Damn feminists! The media are washing the brain of the people demonizing men, teaching that killing men is good. They want to destroy masculinity. Masculinity was sacred ages ago but nowadays is doomed. Men of the world: Unite!

  • I bet her name was Sarah Connor.

  • @makineanok Conan would never hurt women; that's why this scene was removed because it's out of character, nothing more - they are his kryptonite in this respect. Go read Howard's books and you'll see what I mean.

  • As far as real history goes, the Romans did have female gladiators. I wonder, did they ever put them up against men?

  • @Cladeflerel you can be fragile but if you run somebody over with a car you are not fragile.

Then you are more than equal! Equality is a state of leverage!

So what you are saying is that if a man hits a woman he should be prosecuted, beaten and socially outcasted but if a woman runs a man over, she should be treated with caution? You want to have the chivalry done to you but you want to enjoy feminism?

  • @celpabedn

...And that's exactly what I said. It doesn't matter who does a "bad" thing - preferably it should not happen at all, but if it does, the responsibility must be the same. But tell that to the public opinion. They don't think logically at all, so it's bacially feminists vs misogynists having idiotic arguments.

Going back to the movie - the girl was a warrior and Conan's opponent (or so it seems), and that is who he killed. Not some sweet, helpless and fragile lady.

  • @Cladeflerel depends on what she did! Not all women are alike, some will put a man in danger. some just out of his mind, the latter get spanking the first a slap!

If a woman drives a car a nearly runs you over or even does so, why is she different from a man? She has tons of metal like muscle, she has more power than the strongest man! Equality is one thing but ignorance another!

  • @celpabedn Anyway, I'm a girl and I'm pretty convinced that equality in our developed countries shouldn't even be an issue anymore. But equality means that *everyone* has the same obligations, responsibilities, rights. So if one thinks that by hitting someone he/she can prove a point - so be it. But they shouldn't be surprised if the other person hits back. Men shouldn't hit women, ever. And women should obey the same rule. *Because double standards are silly.*

  • @celpabedn I don't see how being a woman equals with being a traitor. If someone is a sneaky opportunist bastard - it's certainly not because of gender. I don't see why it would be.

  • @makineanok its true women today are not tested, men did not let woman sit with them in the old days because they would betray them in war and go with the army who attacked them, today they are on a pedestal and want equal rights, thats alright, but you got to pay the bill girl also!
