  • @barbelotta You will have more full int he ATV to prevent it from collisions with space garbage. There is already too much space garbage in this orbit. So they take the vehical and garbage from the station and burn it with reentry. By the way - the ATV is a evolutionary concept - and they working on a reentry system - and later a version, which can transport people.

  • "Control center her in Toulouse".

    Nice!

I knew some day they would recognize my contributions to space exploration! ;)

  • Yeah, it's a pitty you have to destroy the module. There must be a better way to do this without destroying it.

  • @barbelotta ESA is looking into developing a new version of ATV which can return to Earth instead of being destroyed.

  • I can't wait, I hope I can watch the launch live.

  • @maksphoto78 i think they can make near the station a "cemetery" and there, they can keep this modules, for example, they can prepare this "useless" modules to be like the rooms, or for experiments, or to make with them a little european station, idk but i think is very bad to destroy them..

The rubbish can be sended to go outside of the solar system, or inside to burn near the sun

  • @barbelotta There's nowhere to keep them all. They will need the docking port for other supply ships. Also, they put some rubbish into that module, because they need to get rid of rubbish from time to time.

  • Why u destroy the module after the operations?

I think is bad idea to destroy this modules, keep them on space closed, maybe u will need it later..
