In 1984 the #4 ranked Boston College Eagles, led by their Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Doug Flutie, came to Morganotown for Homecoming weekend. Flutie had never beat the Mountaineers during his time at BC, and this was his last chance for a win. He lead the Eagles to a 20-6 halftime score, but the Mountaineers staged a furious comeback powered by the arm of QB Kevin White and the legs of RB John Gay. What transpired has become one of the most legendary games ever played at Mountaineer Field.
An even more memorable game was played the next week at Mountaineer Field.

If BC had a better defense, I think they could have one it all.
