(1981)

Summary: Xia Ying lan starts a new job as secretary to Mr. Xiao. On her first day, she accidentally meets up Ah Qi (who she thinks is a normal worker in their company). He asks her if she is going to marry into the Xiao family. She doesn't know what he's talking about until he tells her that all the Xiao secretaries have married the Xiao sons. She tells him she's not like that and won't marry a Xiao son.

They start dating and fall in love. One day, an angry man storms into the office and causes trouble, hurting Ying Lan. He's the ex boyfriend of the last secretary who says the Xiaos stole his girlfriend.

Only later when she agrees to hear his side of the story is it revealed that Ah Qi is the youngest sun of Mr. Xiao!!! Ying Lan is hurt that he lied to her about who he was that he was just a poor commoner. She thinks that the Xiao have plotted this all along. Although he explains it to her, in a moment of drunkenness, she hurts him with bitter words and he leaves for America.

When she hears that he's going to be married... she's super sad. But will true love prevail and can they get their happy ending?

This is one of the best Taiwanese movies of QUONG YAO, adapted from her best seller novel of 80's.I like LU HSIEU, a lovely and beautiful girl,LIU WEN ZHENG was a popular Taiwanese singer,he sings the songs in the movie.I like the happy ending, the lovers bave finally found their happiness.Also in the movie I see the old beautiful Taipei,where I've lived many years.Thanks to YOUTUBE , I would like to find more QUONG YAO's movies.

my mom and i love shirley liu (sau ling) but my mom didn't like this movie. i actually like this movie tho. Liu Wen Zhen was cute then and shirley was gorgeous. altho i actually like the guy with the beard. i remember when i was young i wished he was the main guy.

i always wondered if Liu Wen Zhen was bisexual or something because later on he just seemed like it.
