Visit http://pregnantmonths.org to learn more about being 6 Months Pregnant and how to prevent extra pregnancy weight!

You and your baby make it over the half-way point of the amazing journey and into six months pregnant! What an accomplishment, but don't exhaust stamina yet-there's still an extended road ahead, as well as the final "push" at the end. Should you haven't yet considered it, this may be a good time for you to think about childbirth classes, particularly if this is your first pregnancy. The rest of the months will go by fast, so plan in advance. Most expectant moms report the sixth month to become a quite comfortable amount of time in the pregnancy. Some of the early symptoms for example morning sickness and fatigue have passed, and you'll feel a burst of energy and excitement while you begin to anticipate your baby's arrival. You need to still take it easy though, despite this sort of feeling, and begin reserving your time for the eventful months ahead.

As the due date comes into view during this sixth month of pregnancy, the body will start preparing baby for a lifetime outside the womb by fattening him as much as possible to maintain him warm after delivery. What this means is you'll start gaining weight faster before-usually at a rate of about one pound each week. If you've been among those lucky moms-to-be that have been in a position to escape maternity clothes until recently, that will most likely change this month, so that as your uterus expands away from bellybutton, there will be no mistaking your condition. All this extra weight gain-though completely normal and healthy-can have a toll of your back and legs. Should you begin experiencing regular pains and aches, try a heating pad or warm water bottle in addition to adequate rest and calcium and potassium-rich foods for example milk and bananas. You may even begin experiencing uncomfortable negative effects such as heartburn, constipation, and/or hemorrhoids. If over-the-counter medications don't ease these ailments, engage with your doctor about other possible prevention and treatment strategies.
