How long would it take you to go into defense mode in the event of a break-in or other emergency? Home defense needs to be something that really works, not just an untested, never-tried idea. Going through a couple of loose scenarios, we realized our strategy would have failed us quickly. This small modification to our wall greatly improves our chances of swift, effective home defense.

  • Yeah ok, your funny and stupid, if you really are worried about an intruder , why are u showing the world the inside of your home on you tube( including ) the exact location of your weapons?

  • @exploder43 Who said I was worried about an intruder? :P You may call me "funny and stupid", but you're the idiot who can't spell or punctuate.

  • Yeah, all in the name of safety right? Hopefully your kids might only shoot themselves in the foot ( no I don't hope your kids hurt themselves) u just need to grow a brain and LOCK THAT THING !!!!

  • @exploder43 LOL The kids' guns aren't in this room. Their guns are hanging in THEIR rooms. What good would their firearms do them, were someone to try to break in, if their parents weren't home, and their guns were locked on our room? Silly. "Lock that thing!!!" Of all the ridiculous things to say, you had to say that one.

  • What about children or moron adults?

  • @nwlang75 Our children shoot regularly, responsibly & safely. Their firearms are kept in there as well. If there is a moron adult that somehow makes it into my home, he certainly won't be invited to our bedroom. It is my duty to be aware, keenly attentive to people I am not familiar with, who are in my home. If I had any qualms with someone, they would not be let out of my sight. If they "disappear" into one of the bedrooms, I consider that a threat & would apply a swift boot from my home.

  • Good job! Ol' fashioned ingenuity and done on very little money. It isn't about how pretty it looks inside (felt-lined with fancy LED lights, etc) it's about serving a tactical purpose. I did the same basic modification in two rooms using decent mirrors mounted on small hinges.

  • It's obvious that several responders have no idea how to handle firearms OR raise children. Good idea and well done. My only suggestion would be to make a smaller version closer to the door that would be higher off the ground and just large enough to conceal a handgun. (Hinged picture or mirror as a door comes to mind)

  • I love your project. You are a smart and clever gal. One minor thing. What you built would be properly defined as a gun "hide" not a "safe". A safe has some security features, like steel construction, and a lock. Not being critical. Good work. Enjoyed your video.

  • Gotta love women who love guns:) Keep it up! You know what you're doing and that's awesome.

  • I use to rob houses I'm 17 started at 15 I can break in ur house with out a noise even if windows are locked whatever so u should set trip wires at night that will sound of once u step on it it won't call the police but it will scare them off trust me

  • or you can keep a gun in your pockets
