Thank you God for sublime music and that one-of-a-kind artist named Peggy who you sent to deliver it to us. In a world full of trite and tripe she never sang to an audience......she sang to you and me. And we're proud to be known as the folks who lived on that hill with you.

@jcwood1000 This song was written for Irene Dunne. She introduced it in the 1937 movie High, Wide and Handsome.

You don't know what Miss Peggy does to me. This song in particular, cuts like a knife for all that was and all that never will be. And when the kids...oh that magnificent orchestration.I hear it over & over even when it is no longer playing. For those who work to keep these moments alive for all of us,I offer grateful thanks.

Fantastic!
This song must have been written for her. If you hear her version when she was much younger, it's filled with hope and dreams. Here, in her later years, it sounds somewhat bittersweet, although still quite beautiful. As many of us know, life does not always turn out the way we may have wished. Either way, it always brings tears to my eyes.

If you have followed Peggy through her expansive career you see how she has mellowed, always maintaining her emotional power, even when her vocal power has weakened. This song knocks me out.
