It's not so "primitive" as You say...look at "Eternal Day" shape notes

Love shape note singing...

Comparisons are odious but I can't refrain. Country music of the last two decades - a blend of rock and country-- is not good and when you hear music like this --some kind of real old time country-- you know it. There are great country voices today but they should just do covers from the past until something breaks. I am sorry. Anyway this is pure genius.

@lvcivs11 Shape note singing comes from the North not the South pal.

I could watch this all day. So powerful and amazing. Plus the guy leading it is pretty easy on the eyes ;)

Someone else stated that they are not Christian and are only singing for fun. If this is true then they are heathen and its Alabamian I should know. See the comment below my original one.

@historian56 its alabaman and its ok for yankees to sing it theyre cristians too and there are lots of country folk up north too theyre tightly wound and want to impose their will on us but thats their personality they aint heathens

good job guys. Sounds great!
More professional? But the incredible beauty of this music is that it is so primitive and rugged and rough-hewn. :)

This is really a revalation for I didn't know this tradition was still alive.
The sort of church music people sang during the great awakening in New England. Breathtakingly beautifull! Even on this video you could sense the presence of the Holy Spirit. Fondest regards from the Netherlands.
Priase be to the LORD !
