The Still of the Night solo is so wrong at least from the original album--just bugs me.. Aldrich is a great player, but I will always respect John--greatest hard rock/heavy metal shredding guitarist with a perfect touch of blues, and my suspicion is that Coverdale knew that 1987 album was so good, not because of him, but because of a 27-year-old named John Sykes. He couldn't take it. I think both guys have huge egos, and I don't think Aldrich does which is what makes him perfect for Coverdale.

Aldrich and Beach are a good team for WS.A bluesy guitar player +a shredder.Sykes doesn't know about blues?who said that?obviously DC did.Just listen to his vibrato and the n we talk.

Yes you right Doug is a awesome guitar player and I'm a WS fan, love these albums, but the one thing I can't stand is enormous amount of gain and bass on the record. It sounds terrible for me wish Whitesnake had the sound when the Sykes was in a band.

Well, that's true he's been in the longest...but honestly, you know this just well as i know that whitesnake hasn't written a real blues track since the 'Come an' Get it' album. Good to be bad and Forever More, though they are favorites of mine, are hard rock. Sykes was great on 1987 and would've been great for the next albums, although i agree that Doug is at least more known as a blues-fan than sykes was...I'd love to see those 2 doing a solo-battle, seems they're quite evenly matched to me!
