  • I run it between 5000 and 8000, usually shifting at 7800. The power really comes on just below 6000.

  • wtf? you were GETTING schooled BY A lotus 7..hahhahhah.....

  • @loshypoo That "Lotus" is a Caterham with a modern fuel injected Ford engine. It is in a higher class than the 914-4, and therefore should be faster than me. He only passed me after I made a big mistake in the lefthander. I eventually got back around him and pulled away.

  • Nice drive! What was up with the Miata just throwing the car back onto the road?

    (I'm ex-SCCA Corner Worker/Improved Touring driver)

  • That Miata driver was "The Commander".

He did the same sort of maneuver at the National Runoffs that year too. Out of control.

  • @TangerineRacing

Wow. Was he FP or SM (I see he has the hardtop)? Here in SEDIV, we've got some squirrels like that in SM, but most of the guys down here running Miatas in FP have updated from Britcars (and have been racing Prod cars for years).

  • FP. His son wrecked an FP Miata in qualifying the previous day.

They didn't stay in Prod very long.

  • what kind of rpms are you running with that motor

  • I race in F Production, a 1.8L class.

The black and white 914 seen in the video was in the 2 liter class with a -6.

  • Is this engine a 1.8 or a 2.0 ? Are you running in a 2 liter class ?
