KPRC, News 2 Houston at Noon 1998 Open

Nicholas, Sachse. Dominique is anchoring the later newscasts and Olga Villaverde is subbing in. These graphics were done by Giant Octopus and the music was updated by Frank Gari. IMO, the presentation were one of the best by KPRC (as opposed to the present).

Bob Nicholas retired from the business after being demoted to weekends, Olga Villaverde returned to Miami briefly to WPLG and then left the business and Chuck George left to be the chief meteorologist at KOLD-TV.

Frankly, I think Olga Villaverde had something to do with this crap...

Why, you may ask? Because she had just come from the Tabloid News leader, WSVN in Miami...

The only difference between these two stations, is that WSVN looks good tabloid-y.

Besides, Olga left Houston to go back to Miami and WPLG.

I believe that the News Director at WHDH and WSVN;became a producer for KPRC-TV not to long after leaving those 2 stations.

This is by far the best open KPRC had back in the late 1990s

KPRC looked more like a Sunbeam owned station than a Post Newsweek station (their newscasts looked like WHDH & WSVN).
