One of the reasons this country cannot wake up is our unique history. Most people are never taught about Howad Zinn's "people's history of the united states". To sum it up, the native indigenous population has traditionally been cast as "the enemy". Until the mid seventies it was still vogue to portray genocidal campaigns against the "indians" by white soldiers as "western" movie standard fare. What does the "new enemy" look like? The US has active programs of ethnic cleansing to this day.

I'd like to know why all of these protesters during Bush's term are now silent. Where are the protests now? So Bush is gone and all is well? The same war is still on, the same cops are still there, the same soldiers are still gone, the same SENATORS ARE STILL IN OFFICE! The only difference is the protesters being arrested and demonized are conservatives instead of liberals. Both parties are pawns too stupid to even see the game of keep-a-way you're in.

And, bullshit like the host of this video gives may be contrary to the bullshit from politicians. But, it's still bullshit. The truth is that Washington is a machine that feeds itself with power and lies. These crooks have only one goal, to bring power to the party. Not to look after the nation's best interest. It's too late to stop it. But, making claims about the government that are absurd doesn't help anything.

I think we're somewhere between fascism, oligarchy, socialism, democracy, constitutional republic. The fact of the matter is this. The government was founded on the principle of independant states that are united to form the union. Elected officials would travel to Washington to represent their constituents. Now, it's evolved into an obsurd power grab. The most troubling thing to me is how the people just eat up all the bullshit these politicians spit out.

That's how I heard of it too. Those guys must talk about what books to recommend at the shrink meetings. I think it's an extraordinary work of literature. Best book I've ever read.
