@Michaelridesabike couldn't agree with you more. i've been a diehard fan ever since the first time i heard them.
i've lost count of how many times ive seen them, its been many many years since i discovered them. this song is intense as f*ck. i love everything they do. everything. its breathtaking, its that good. they are totally screwed because they should have been seriously famous long ago.

Man.. Ben is cool. I like this better than the album version. Real and raw. Mike on a bike is RIGHT!

he sounds like a folk singer from the 60's by the name of bob dylan which we need ppl like that in music in a world today in which we dont have

If you like Lucero, i think you would like the Drive-by Truckers.

Lots of friends left behind
But I made it all the way across France
And I fought at the Maginot line
Road a tank into Belgium
Like them better than the French
Like my daddy, thirty years before
I did my time in a trench
These guys are overlooked so much.
This is the most REAL music out there.
Amazing songwriting/story telling.
Seriously the best thing to happen to music in awhile.
And please dont reply with" well what about blah blah"
fuck it, my point stands. haha

He's FROM Arkansas and we all run around with the same crowd. About 4 years ago he played a solo show in my friends backyard and he debuted this song. I cried that night.
I'm from Pine Bluff, which he sings about. This song's about his grandfather (from Stuttgart, AR) going to WWII. It's simply amazing.
