  • PF face mask is not an automatic first down?

  • The restricted zone has to be cleared when the ball is live. The ball is not live when the ready to play signal is given. Rule 1-2-3g, ...and becomes a restricted area when the ball is live. Rule 9-8-3, "No player or coach shall be in the restricted area when the ball is live." Rule 2-1-2: "A live ball is a ball in play. A ball becomes live when the ball has been legally snapped or free kicked and a down is in progress"

  • In High School, NFHS rules, in order for it to be a horse-collar penalty, the player must be dragged to all the way to the ground, backwards, and it has to be by a single tackler, no assisted tackles.
