Street jazz on Telegraph Avenue in Berkeley

Telegraph Avenue extends from the south side of the University of California campus in Berkeley. The nickname "Berzerkeley" applied especially to the Telegraph Ave. scene, but as it was in dream-time, even decades ago. Now businesses have gone out; run-down facades have been remodeled; an up-scaling trend makes Telegraph look more like Rodeo Drive (oh, not really, I exaggerate). But on weekends you still have sidewalk selling and music ... This group identifies its repertoire as nineteen-thirties' jazz. Could you also say "Dixieland"?
