Well the set was so exact
And there we sat inside the bedroom of my past
We made from scraps to match
The photographs of all known facts

And that was that
The actress playing you was waiting for her cue
She asked me, how much of this filth is really true?
I wish I knew, well close your eyes

Theres nothing wrong
That a fade out til its gone
And the whole thing blends together
Like a song thats way to long

(Woohoo, Woohoo)
All these troubles, all these lies

(Woohoo, Woohoo)
All these cities, all these minds

(Woohoo, Woohoo)
I can see it in my sights

It makes me pray the things we say
The things we stay
The things we learn that day
A thousand times I swear that I'm OK
Cause I can see the future
(Woohoo, Woohoo)

We ran through the scenes just fine
She knew her lines and I knew mine
And every time we reached the end
Thats where we started all again

Now and then I look right through the cast and crew
into the past I thought I knew
But usually its hard to separate the two
Well close your eyes

Theres nothing wrong
That a fade out til its gone
And the whole thing blends together
Like a song thats way too long

(Woohoo, Woohoo)
And the band was out of sight

(Woohoo, Woohoo)
Did it make you feel alright?

Did you see their faces hyponotized in your eyes
(It makes me pray the things) we stay
The things we say
The things we learn that day
Questions and suggestions and the things
Were supposed to mention all the time
To meet this guy
Who you should know who just came by to see this girl
(who) missed the calls I misdecided which to take
And which can waiiiiiiiit...
...Before the curtains raised

I can see the future.

  • my cousin ashley works for the record label these guys are signed to. the singer is Kyp Malone from "TV on the radio" i have the whole album. another good song from them is "where i'm going", also, " i already know you're wrong", "buddy", and Airport 79

  • You're right. I also have this album and its full of great songs like ''Airport 79'', ''Evil Summer'' and of course ''I Can See The Future''..

  • Wow, i cant believe this song only has 881 views. I heard this song and assumed it would be close to one-million views by the time i caught on.

  • Then what are you waiting for? go and spread the word jk :D Yeah I know what you mean, it's a shame that not many people know about this song. Thanks for watching

  • For example i stumbled across Blind Pilots' single "three rounds and a sound" and figured "I must be the only person in the world who may appreciate this song".

After searching youtube for said song, to my surprise its' video already had 9,000 views.

However, I believe this song, "I Can See the Future" is way more poppy and approachable, as far as loving it on the first listen.

Trust me, ive already done my best to spread the word among the 4 or 5 of my friends.

  • Thanks a lot, man. I must check out that song, Blind Pilot is a good band :D

  • Their first album was amazing. This is good. But, I feel it lacks the "anything goes" concept of their debut. Still good, but not AS good. Seriously, Pickup/Stillborn is just an amazing song. The rest of the album is pretty freaking solid too.

Man, it's odd to think they've been around for 10 years. I remember listening to them in High School. Damn...

  • saw these guys live with dan bejar and they were absolutely fantastic. their live sound is pretty spot on with what they record. i also had the opportunity to meet the singer and another band member outside before/during the show and he was a very cool dude; quite humble and down to earth.

  • Kyp Malone's new album is called Rain Machine, he might be on this album somewhere but im pretty sure he's not the lead singer.

  • His voice kind of reminds me of Frank Zappa's... I don't know why. But awesome song anyway! :D

  • Total epic song!

  • Most coherent lyrics ever!

As much as anyone, i'd love to relive my past but I'd really love to see the future!

  • This band has IT.
