Recorded 14 June, 2009, at the Red White and Blues VI concert at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Blairstown, NJ. The theme of Red White and Blues VI was the bicentennial of Abraham Lincoln's birth. Of course, the most important achievement of Lincoln's presidency was the abolition of slavery. These two songs were sung by soldiers of Black regiments in the Union Army during the Civil War. "Oh Freedom" was revived during the Civil Rights Movement of the late 1950s and 1960s.
I like the way you combined these two songs. Very powerful.
