Yeah, it's totally not used for the set at all, and it wasn't in the parts list either. Since it has a serial number, I'm thinking it could be a special edition bonus brick.

@sk8colton I have four warthog with covenant turret sets, four scorpion tank sets, one hornet set and one of the UNSC turret sets and they all came with a spare 4X2 brick with a serial number imprinted on the side, maybe its a marker brick to show the type of colour brick needed for the specified design when the workers/machines are loading up the sets with megabloks bricks.
