Episode one of the hit TV show, Bollywood, USA! Featuring Academy Award winning composer, AR Rahman. In addition to winning two Academy Awards for Slum Dog Millionaire, Mr. Rahman also wrote the scores for such Hollywood films as Couples Retreat and 127 Hours. This episode also features international rap sensation, Blaaze, who has just finished a world tour. And episode one is rounded out with an interview of Dr. Ashok Subramanian, a physician, business owner, pilot, and lead singer of the band, Code Blue. Hosted by Laura Hart and Meredith Beck and co-produced by AEG International and GEM Productions, Bollywood USA takes a look at the globalization of the entertainment industry and breaks down some of the stereotypes of people of Southeast Asian heritage.
