@klaueyy The hedgehog in this video is self-annointing. They essentially cloak themselves with new smells that they chew on to better camouflage to the environment. That's why they only respond to smells of food+toy or dog slobber on toys and then smear the saliva on their back. Mine never plays with the toys in her cage, only "smelly" things outside of her environment like draw strings on my sweater

Yep. Same with my Hedgie. Once my new puppy played with a toy my hedgie would play with it too. Kinda weird. I'll put the vid up soon :)
