Why is everyone carrying a log?

I agree with you. I'm doing it already: moving from the US to EU, to find good land, not owned by corporations and grow my own food.
I want to unplug myself from the system.

Humans in general are stupid. Most of us act without even thinking about the consequences, why? because most of us dont care. Almost everyone on the planet has the "let someone else worry about it" mindset. We think that all the "professionals" will solve the problem, whatever it may be, in this case its the paper making industries. Humanity is going to destroy itself.

@1113Falcon Yeah and I'm pretty sure that trees grow just as fast as flowers. If we need some more trees for paper products, why don't we just plant a tree this year for next year's supply.

It seriously makes no difference cuz if you dont cut the trees down, you cant make room for new ones to grow anyways. Whenever you cut a tree down, you open up room for LOTS of new life where the tree is. Trust me, ive cut down pecan trees and plants and shrubs practically shoot out where the tree was.You cant keep new life out of that spot! lol So would you prefer to waste a perfectly good tree, and let it go to waste to disease and old age and let it die?

Any farmer will tell you that you can not harvest a field year after year without tilling under a crop to feed the soil or it all dies. Trees are not a forest and a forest is not trees. It is designed to bounce back from the odd disaster but sustained harvests are not part of a natural cycle. Your math also sucks. 22 million acres does not grow back every year. Think about it a little.

i wrote a song about five years ago and i have a demo of it, its called when the tree's fall, have a listen.its live so don't expect to much.

i don't know about warrior, but i recommend not recycling. if we use more paper and wood products the demand for trees will go up and they will plant more trees "According to [Cato's] Jerry Taylor, we are growing 22 million acres of new forest each year, and we harvest 15 million acres, for a net annual gain of 7 million acres. The United States has almost four times more forested land today than it did 80 years ago." if we didn't use the wood we wouldn't grow the forests.

1. recycling DOES NOT save trees! most trees today are grown on tree farms, we need trees so we grow them. if we stopped using paper and such and started only using recycled paper we wouldn't need the tree farms or the forests, and there would be more of a motive to cut them down.
2. we are not running out of landfill space. "an area 44 miles square and 120 feet deep would handle all of America's garbage for the next millennium." - The Nevada Policy Research Institute.
3. we do have a choice.

I have to almost agree, but we could change, if enough people accept change for the greater good we can do this!

i know everyones cutting dowwn trees and trees make ozygen which makes u live without trees wee be x_x
did anyone ever think of all the WASTE that comes from recycling? What about all those big trucks that drive all over town picking up recycling? Or what about the electricity required to run the plants? don't forget the chemicals that must be made and then used to aid in recycling. You are all so very naive, why don't you think and reason for yourselves instead of being brainwashed by the agenda?

So what do you recommend?

Do what your grandparents did: use fabric tissues and wipes and wash them. Humanity existed before kleenex.
Also, I'd make sure to double-check if it's really "ancient forest" that's being cut for tissues. I live in Germany and my family owns some forest, and the wood that paper mills buy is the scrap and leftovers we have after cutting firewood for our own needs or what comes out when cleaning up after a storm.

You miss the point of the commercial. It is not about tissues, and it is not advocating using washable fabric which will greatly inconvenience our daily life. It is asking us to reflect on our daily activities and see what we can do to salvage this world for our children.

As for "ancient forest", it is all about supply and demand. If your scrap is all used up for making tissues, then other mills will have to after other sources. Agree that recycling also creates waste, but we don't have a choice, resources even landfills are running out.
