...Pretty much.
-
...Did Yamato just commit genocide?
-
After all, America has one of the biggest armies in the world, so it's in their best interest no to show the real horrors of war. Else they'd have a hard time recruiting.
-
what's funny is to look back and remember that you actually felt some hope as they approached Iscandar.
-
not only does the yamato metal heal itself but the third bridge just grows back. that tears it, wolverine got stiffed with mere adamantium, cosmonite is where it's at
-
@galloway6204 Don't see it so critical. It's a movie from 1974...
-
Wtf the yamato was WRECKED! and as they took off it just seemed to be back to normal again
-
Unfortunately, it's mainly civilians who are the casualties of wars, the f#@kers in power who cause the wars, have a lot to answer for.
-
what's important is never to be the aggressor as japan was during the war. had it just sought a treaty it never would have been attacked with the atomic bombs. i never wanted to be friends with any bully in school but I never felt sorry for fighting back.in this situation you have earth stopping gamilus from wiping itself out. gamilus merely got, had this been real, it's karmic payback. peace!:)

Too bad the cartoon I saw in my youth was so watered down of the facts of war and even the facts of the show.
This is one of the most humanistic anti-war endings I've ever seen... Peace forever!!!

I was sad to learn that the composer for "Space Battleship Yamato" - Hiroshi Miyagawa - passed away in 2006.
The music used for the first two seasons of Space Battleship Yamato is, in my opinion, the best used in all of Anime.
It is used to tremendous effect here from 5:00 - 6:40. So moving.
