Thank-you for your question; it is a good one. Yes this is definitely not the 'normal' look for a typical hand-hammered Himalayan singing bowl.
But I am sure they are authentic, and traditional - just confined to a fairly small village area. I have seen this shape used as cooking pots.
This one has not been used in a fire, but it may be that this shape is meant to invoke the shape of a cooking pot - in the sense of an offering bowl, maybe to offer food at a ceremony.

Excellent! I'm not sure this one really "resonates" with me, but I would really enjoy seeing more mid- to xl-sized bowls.
