Another "happy" hardcore song that recently caught my attention. Mainly due to how not-happy it feels.
This is a very, very rare j-core tune. It has never been officially released (unmixed) and has only been featured on the CDr promo mix "Rave!" released in the year 2000 on the now-defunct Raverz Project! label. My guess is that Mr. Shimamura has little interest in returning to his early style and thinks that no one wants to hear this type of hardcore anymore. That, or he lost the source files / tape for his early works. I dunno, 2000 was a long time ago.
As stated above, if the genre "Unhappy Hardcore" existed, this would fit the bill. Its not dark or hard enough to be called gabber or "real" hardcore, but its not exactly uplifting either. I'll admit, I don't know what the vocal sample says, but the tone of it sounds quite wistful and melancholic. If you have a translation or know the source of this sample, do tell.
Picture is fanart of a very poignant scene from Puella Magi Madoka Magica.
ooohhh, could you maybe provide a link to the artwork? i could always use a new wallpaper

By the title, I thought this was going to be another Dear You arrangement.
You find the best music. ;__;

@DepressioSpirit Knowing the fact that I've used like 3 Dear You arrangements in my mixes, I see why you would think that. This actually predates Higurashi by ~2 years.
