Obermann is quite right in just about everything he says here. But, a two party system is an insult to the notion of true democracy. It's the absolute minimum number of parties that a system requires to call itself democratic. Plus, it seems that for quite some time, America has actually been under the rule of a one party system that merely pretends that the people have a choice in who leads them. Nowadays, an American can either vote for Very Bad or Even Worse.
Ah yes Freedom of speech says riskyscot. The Patriot Act say I. In addition, you may think you have freedom of speech, access to information - but only what you are allowed to know about by 'the ones in charge' . You must agree that the U.S is generally inward looking. But what really scares the rest of us is the God thing that appears to have a majority in American politics and domestic issues! Is trex554 a typical or minority?
ding ding ding! we have a winner! NO HE DOES NOT HAVE OUR BEST INTERESTS IN MIND!
Go explore the internet a bit, find out all the lies and deceit that come from this guy. Here's a hint -- He's on the board of ABB. Find out who sold reactors to North Korea, ABB. Or what happened when he was president of Searle.
excuse me? It was NOT QUESTIONING the government that allowed the holocaust to happen.
You need to learn your history, don't just consume it off the TV. And you should read the declaration of independence, the Constitution, the Bill of Rights.
It is your DUTY to question the government, if you wish to remain free.
it was allowed to be broadcast because we have a certain thing called freedom of speech. something people in the middle east do not have. You may have those rights taken away in the UK too, so next time you villify the u.s. remember they defend your right to critisize as much as they do to praise them.
Look at it this way: Iraq and Iran have been at war for years. Iran has a nuclear program. Weapons grade or no, do you think Iran's nemesis Iraq will sit by and watch as Iran developed a nuclear program? If Iran got nukes, and saddam was in power, he would have to build WMDs to protect Iraq. That conflict would destabilize the region and threaten the rest of the world, whether you want to admit that or not. The world with saddam is a different and more dangerous world than the world without him
And America hasn't invaded coutries in the past? Vietnam? That was all about fighting communism. How about Korea? Iraq is just another country you can add to that list. Iraq had no army left after Desert Storm, they posed no threat. They never found the supposed Chemical and Nuclear weapons which was the main reason for going there. And later the Government ADMITS to NEVER having ANY EVIDENCE of the weapons even being there. ANd our government doesn't fabricate lies? Right.

Or Bill O'Reilly. Where was he before Fox News Channel? Entertainment Tonight or Entertainment Weekly or something like that.
