The pushing stage of my daughter's birth.

She was born on 1.22.11 at home.

A few notes:
1) I wanted to be in that position on my back. I don't recommend pushing on your back, but that's how I wanted to be. I had actually been on my hands and knees and then moved to that position to push
2) I had a partial placental abruption as Luca was born - so any discussion you hear from my midwife after the birth is probably related to my bleeding
3) My husband wasn't there because he's military - he didn't get in until 6 days after her birth

Luca's birth story can be found here:

  • Were you comfortable with the midwife constantly sticking her fingers in you? Kind of got the sense that you were irritated with that...

  • @charesebaby I had a cervical lip & the baby was really low. My midwife told me I could keep laboring or change positions or she could try to move it out of the way. I labored for awhile more, changed positions, etc. But then I asked her to just move it out of the way. so, it did kind of bother me - but I asked her to do it. I kept having what I thought were round ligament pains & I wanted labor over with (it was actually my placenta detaching). So, maybe it happened for a reason? I'm not sure.

  • @charesebaby I posted a link to the birth story though. Explains everything a little better.

  • @cute799 - whisked her away? the video was cut and edited or else it would have been too long. She was with me for an extremely long time & nursed and all that good stuff. I just didn't have any video of that part...
