On display at the 2007 International Robot Exhibition in Tokyo, were a range of explosion proof painting manipulators from Kawasaki Heavy Industries.

The KF121 shown here being used in conjunction with the servo twister, is a painting system for small workpieces including household electrical appliance components for devices such as digital cameras and cell phones. The 1.15 meter long arm allows for a maximum reach of 1.24 meters and a payload of 5 kilograms and is the fastest moving painting manipulator in it's class.

The KF 194 being used in conjunction with the Servo Wing, is for painting medium to large sized workpieces on a conveyor line as well as larger household and automobile components. Utilizing the BBR, or Bend Bend Roll twist type wrist it can paint front and flat surfaces and conveyor mounted components.

The latest model to be released is the KG284, which has been primarily designed to paint various car body parts. It features integrated paint equipment and pump motors in the upper arm, flexible hose and cable routing, can support a payload of 25 kilograms in the arm and has a maximum reach of 2.85m.
