if you can move the chain to the smallest sprocket on the jack drive pulley the alternator will turn faster...

Gear ratio is way out of wack, huge initial gear, tiny little gear on alternator.. If alternator even work?!

an outer frame would help center the top and take out a lot of the wobble.

Looks cool... needs some work, but I bet you're having fun building it! Can't wait to see it when it's perfected. Keep it up... I like it.

@Prancinglion1 Thanks will do. I have some other projects doing right now, mainly farming stuff. Ive got a bio-intensive garden maintaining and bigger mono culture farms...not to menetion work. Appreciate the comments tho

There are so many improvements that could be made 2 this turbine, starting again maybe a better option. The disadvantage with vertical axis turbines is that blades must battle against an oncoming wind. Ur design has over emphasised this. Blades should be a slender "D" shape or slightly curved in cross section resulting in a difference in air pressure and movement (think aeroplane wing). They shud also b parallel 2 its opposite.
An alternator would require around 500rpm 2 produce serious current.
