Time to UNLEASH THE FURY! I am proud to finally be releasing this very special interview with one of the world's greatest guitar players, Mr. YNGWIE J. MALMSTEEN. This interview completed at the Scout Bar in San Antonio on October 4th, 2008 never aired via ROBBS METALWORKS due to our retirement, so I hope that all the fans really enjoy this one, as you take a first hand look at the man! You'll see Yngwie & I primarily talk about his latest full length cd, 'Perpetual Flame' (which was coming out just 10 days later), his relationship with new vocalist, Tim 'Ripper' Owens, his new record label (Rising Force Records) and his induction into the Rock Walk Hall of Fame. Cool, but is Yngwie difficult to interview? Whenever I see him interviewed it always looks to be quite an effort for the person speaking to him.

Despite the rumors you may be surprised to know that I thought Yngwie was a very cordial, professional & cool interviewee. Even off camera he autographed a lot of photos for us & just chatted. If others seem to exerting their effort - its more than likely because of his presence. He is the epitome of a 'rock star', as he should be.

I usually don't respond to critics, but you don't seem to be coming from there, so here it goes. When the show was on air sometimes we would have to delay airing several months due to other content which was recorded prior (first in, first out); for this interview 6 mths could be accounted for due to the retirement which happend in June. Since that time I've been too busy to edit & get it online, as I am now working on my PhD. Hope this helps. Nonetheless, I hope you're glad its out now ;)

He seems like a nice down to earth guy. When he was younger,I don't think he was arrogant at all.He just is VERY confident about what type music he plays and is VERY confident playing his guitar. This confidence he has got him FAR but it's what scares other people and guitar players. His confidence.Thank God he believes in what he plays.He's AWESOME! We still believe in you,Yngwie. Yngwie J Malmsteen is a guitar God and seems like a real nice person as well. I don´t see why idiots make up stories that is unpolite, OK, maybe in the 80s he could be a bit arrogant, but not more than other rock stars. I am jealous that you have met the God. It would be so cool just to be in the same country as him. BTW: he missed his other finger when doing the horn in 8:48 :)
