rICK ROLLED
HAHAHAHA

This was on the first American Astley LP, "Whenever You Need Somebody" and, in the UK, released as a single too. It was doing so monumentally well, that Capitol re-issued the Nat King Cole original version to try to blunt it. I don't know how well that worked, but Astley's version is astonishingly good. Any fool who takes him for just an insubstantial, bubblegum dance record-maker, doesn't know what they're talking about. Liked him 20-plus years ago, and still do.

Fantastic. He definitely has the voice for these kinds of songs. Classic songs.

Am I the only one that going into this, expected to be rick rolled?

I don't understand why at the beginning the announcer said it wasn't a good idea to record this. Rick did an absolutely fabulous job of it! He has the voice of an angel.

LINDO!!!

ALL RICK ASTLEY'S HATERS SHOULD LISTEN TO THIS.

*sigh*... so beautiful...

This is a heavenly voice blessed from God, he doesn't have the half of he deserves!
Selma.
frankly I think Nat King Cole would be proud of this one.

The odds are astronomical that there are artists that can take iconic classics and make phenomenal renditions. Rick Astley is one with this tune.
