Installing OS X on a PC is much easier than it used to be, so this isn't at all impressive anymore is it?

EDIT: I now own a MacBook, so don't hassle me anymore about "getting a real Mac". Because I do have one.

My install of OSx86, the Leopard flavor.

Before asking questions, please check the linked sites.

The "about this mac" info shown part of the way through the video says:
Version 10.5.1
2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
2GB 800MHz SDRAM
Startup Disk: Leopard

My Wifi card is a Netgear WG311T; recognized as Airport Extreme with the Atheros patch.

I'm running on the most difficult osx86 motherboard, the damn NVidia 680i SLi. Great for gaming, not for osx86.

Graphics - 256mb NVidia Geforce 7900 GS - Full QE / CI, all harware accelerated, works perfectly.

I have an Intel Core 2 Duo E6550, overclocked to 3.4GHz and 2gb Crucial Ballistix 4-4-4-12 DDR2 800 (overclocked to DDR2 1000).

The first "song" is Legend from the Halo 3 Soundtrack, the second song is Oh jeez... by Buckethead and the third song is Astronomy by Blue Oyster Cult.

IF YOU LIKE OS X, THEN AT LEAST BUY A LICENSE FOR IT. I OWN A LEOPARD LICENSE, TIGER LICENSE, AND 2 IPODS. I WILL SHORTLY BE BUYING A MAC. THE DEVELOPERS SPENT A LOT OF TIME AND WORKED VERY HARD TO GIVE YOU THIS PRODUCT. SHOW THEM SOME APPRECIATION AND SUPPORT THEM SO THEY CAN FEED THEIR FAMILIES AND CONTINUE TO MAKE GREAT PRODUCTS. Thank you.

  • will internet work

  • @spshivram It all depends on the hardware in your computer.

  • I'm running a dell optiplex gx270 pentium 4 2.6ghz 1gb ram with windows 7

The installation completed but mac wouldn't start up it just kept going on that darwin thing - and kept on going back to the installer.

When i take the cd out and error comes up saying "Boot0: error" and also i can't access my windows 7 now :(

  • @musicwizard1 Unfortunately I can't really help you. I haven't done anything with OSx86 now in over a year so I'm not acquainted with any of the current releases or bootloaders. I also couldn't try to figure anything out with my machine if I wanted to, since my new graphics card is completely incompatible at the moment. I can tell you though, that the Pentium 4 is all but incompatible with Snow Leopard (if that's the version you installed). I'm at the character limit here so next comment...

  • @musicwizard1 There's hope of being able to boot back into your Windows 7 install if you can install the chameleon bootloader using you OS X install disc if it has it, or if it doesn't you can download an OSx86 release that does have it built in and uncheck everything except chameleon.

Another word of advice - Until you're completely familiar with OSx86, bootloaders, partitioning and dual booting you should install OSx86 on a separate hard drive and disconnect your main one before installing.
