Blue Whale Slow Motion Lunge Feed

Blue whales feed exclusively on krill -- a small shrimplike crustacean. On this particular day, krill were near the surface and this whale while engulfing an enormous amount of water and filtering out the krill, exploded out of the sea, right next to my kayak. Luckily, I had the camera rolling (GoPro 1080 with head mount) for this one-in-million encounter. This footage was part of one of my previous postings, but I wanted to share it in slow motion. This encounter happened about 4 miles off the coast of Southern California. The full original video can be seen at:
