Le Monastère de la Nativité de la Vierge Mère de Dieu est situé au coeur du village de Godoncourt, dans les Vosges (France). Cet ancien couvent, fondé en 1843, était habité par les soeurs du Saint Coeur de Marie, réputées pour leur accueil et la fabrication des pâtes et pains d'anis.

Depuis mars 2002, ce lieu, longtemps laissé à l'abandon, a été repris par le Patriarcat Orthodoxe de Serbie. Grâce à Monseigneur Luka, la communauté de moniales venues de pays différents, mais réunies dans la foi, peut désormais accueillir les nombreux fidèles en quête de vie spirituelle.

Most of the nuns in this recording of from various origins other than French.

They learned the basics of psaltiki over the phone (40 hours) and with the help of Andriani ATLANTI, they achieved their first ever recording :

In spite of their quite rudimentary living conditions and work overload to keep the monastery alive, they have invested their few hours of rest to learn psaltiki (Christian sacred chant) according to the AUTHENTIC tradition, which requires following in the steps of a master who has learnt from a master.

May their prayers to God carry ours as well.

I really have NOT time to make videos, NOR did I enjoy making any of thos I posted: that's why I use a simple image and audio.

Nevertheless, I "applied" myself a couple of minutes as concerns the nuns heard on this video clip, because I feel they work VERY hard
