I am gradually sorting through some of my ancient video tapes to log what is on them, and caputuring some vintage clips whilst I do so.

Here is the continuity for Childrens ITV, leading out of a repeat episode of 'The Real GhostBusters' ("Victor the Happy Ghost", second season, 1986). It is presented by Andy Crane wannabe and the unbearable Scally the Dog!! The advertisements are from the London (Thames / LWT) region.

To note is the voiceover promoting the next programme during the end of GhostBusters - very rare in those days (unlike nowadays when announcers babble all over closing credits!!). Also, the end of UK GB cartoons were edited to remove several pages advertising the soundtrack and whatnot, and a final couple of pages advertising the soundtrack and whatnot are edited out (look for the jumpy animation and the final page holding while the audio catches up).

There is an advertisement for 'The Queen's Beast, part of the CAB3 (?) strand.

Adverts include:
* The newly released Kellogg's Toppas
* Oringina
* Milkybar (with The Milkybar Kid!)
* Captain Birdseye's new Seasiders Cod and Potato shapes
* Nesquick milkshake
* London Weekly Advertiser
* Kwik Save

Then we have CITV advertisements for 'Jellyneck' and 'Johnny Ball Reveals All', before the beginning of 'Dramarama - Codzmorf'.

I have also uploaded the continuity and advertisment break from before the episode.

I've also uploaded the advertisement from during the film.
I am still going through all of my old tapes and uploading various clips, so check back regularly!

  • Have you got the full episode of "Codzmorf"? If so, was it any good? I don't remember much about the 1989 series of "Dramarama", except for an episode called "Mitchin", which was made by then local region TSW & was filmed quite near to where I live in Cornwall!

  • I have about 10 minutes or so of it, until it hits the end of the tape. I was a bit young for 'Dramarama' when it was on. If you want I can upload as much of the episode as I have got sometime.

  • Great clips of classic CITV, keep them coming please!...

  • More on the way! =)

  • @JayFirestorm - WOW! Youtube is GREAT for this. Before you'd have to either rely on reading old Mags, Listen to Music form that time, or watch Reruns or Rent/Buy Vids made from that Time (or find an old Vid recorded from the TV then that you didn't touch in all those Years, I have 1 or 2 thankfully). Its easy to forget the Adds and just think of the Programmes but the Adds bring back as many Memories, defintely. One would wonder what some of those Actors and Kids are doing now. Thanks a million.

  • Anybody else notice J Michael Strazynski's name here in the credits,creator of Babylon 5 and Spiderman Writer

  • - Ah, the days when children's TV actually showed the credits of shows in full, instead of actively promoting a gnat's attention span. We shall not see their like again. Faintly weird in retrospect seeing JMS' name nestled in the credits.

    - BUT MUMMY MUMMY THERE IS A. BUNNY. Never give the punchline to a child actor.

    - A Kwik Save Mary Steenburgen in the Kwik Save advert.

    - Johnny Ball was recently demoted to demigod for his water-carrying activities for the global warming flat-earther lobby.

  • The Milkybar advert looks older than 1989.

  • Wait, Frosted Wheats was called Toppas?

  • at the end of the Real Ghost busters closing credits they didn't show the Columbia Pictures Television 1982-92 logo, instead they slide into the CITV continuity.

  • it wasn't that stringent then. they still have soundtrack advertising on films they show on television.

  • There IS actually a bunny that drinks your Nesquik.

    Don't buy Nesquik because it's a danger.

  • plz can u upload the new itv player advert
