The ceiling exploit does take some of the bite out of a very difficult level. I'm guessing it was intentional; it seems too perfect to have been a happy coincidence.

At the mini boss, the ceiling doesn't hurt you. The hit boxes of the first and third ceiling guns don't extend to the top, so you can safely squeeze in.
