  • Hi Ken Bob,

I'm wondering if you coould give me some advice. When I run I get some stiffness around the hip flexors. Maybe I'm doing something wrong? It seems like less of problem when I go full stride.

    cheers,

    Nick in London

  • @barefootkenbob good advice it worked well for me!

  • @toddviv

Sore Achilles is often from trying to stay up on the ball of the foot (RELAX your calves, and bend your knees - let your heel touch the ground), and/or trying to push off (simply LIFT the foot - it's so much easier to lift the foot, than to launch the body high into the air (only to crash harder!).

Relax, relax, relax, but do practice on some rough surfaces (that will help teach you to NOT push your feet too hard into the ground)

More info at my website The Running Barefoot.

  • @barefootkenbob hi there may i ask you some advice sir. I purchased your book and have thoroughly reading it. However i still do suffer from achilles problems with causes me to stop barefoot running. is there any advice you can pass my way?

  • I don't know who this Barefoot "Bob" is, but I (Barefoot Ken Bob) still don't know of any "perfect running form. Mine is still improving, and of course, is responsive to the conditions of the day (terrain, and variations in my own body, and feelings).

    Have fun,

    -barefoot ken bob

  • I recognize the back of my head in this video. I had done a 7 mile run (wearing shoes) in May, but had just started the transition to barefoot running. Since then I've worked up to 6 mile barefoot runs, with 6.5 my longest so far.
